LMC fines Kano Pillars N2.5 million to play home games in Katsina

The League Management Company (LMC) has fined former champion Kano Pillars N2.5 million and going forward they will play their home games in Katsina State following their banishment to the Muhammad Dikko Stadium. 

LMC imposed the fine of two million, five hundred thousand (2, 500, 000.00) naira on Kano Pillars or disobedience during the NPFL encounter with Rivers United on Wednesday according to media reports.

LMC in issuing the sanctions said the four-time NPFL champions breached of Rules B13.52, B13.18, B8.21 and C1.1 of the Frameworks and Rules of the NPFL.

The club were also found in breach of Rule B8.21 of the Frameworks and Rules of the NPFL for failure to provide adequate security for match officials after the match, which resulted in the harassment of the Match Officials, after the match and later at their hotel.

They were further found in breach of Rule C1.1 of the Framework and Rule for failure to adequately enforce the proactive closed-door order restricting the entry of fans to the match venue.

“In accordance with Rule C26, Pillars is required, within 48 hours of the date of the notice, to either submit to the summary jurisdiction and the sanctions or elect to be dealt with by a disciplinary panel.

Any such election must be in writing addressed to the undersigned at the office of the LMC,” the league organisers said.

Pillars spokesperson  Rilwanu Idris Malikawa Garu confirmed the relocation of Kano Pillars football club to Muhammad Dikko Stadium in Katsina where they will be playing.

“ We received the directives from the LMC and we have relocated to Katsina with immediate effect. The statement was signed by the chief operating officer Salihu Abubakar which said for some security challenges and encroachment unto the playing field during your match with Rivers United football club in match day 16 at Kaduna and despite that the match was arranged as closed door”.

Malikawa then thanked the Kaduna state football Association, Swan Kaduna and entire football family of Kaduna state for the support and cooperation they give to them during their playing time at Ahmadu Bello Stadium Kaduna.

The Media Officer then expressed confidence that they would get maximum support and cooperation from government and good people of Katsina State for the success of the club throughout their stay in Katsina.
