Real Madrid basketball team are the first to qualify EuroLeague Final Four

Reigning champions Real Madrid proved that shaky EuroLeague form at the end of the regular season was just a sign of ease rather than a warning signal.

Los Blancos delivered when it mattered the most and became the first team to clinch the 2024 EuroLeague Final Four spot.

On Wednesday night, Real beat Baskonia 102-98 and completed the 3-0 quarterfinal series sweep.

This accomplishment marked only the sixth time since the introduction of the round-robin system in the 2016-17 season that a team has won a series without defeats.

This isn't the first time Real has displayed such dominance in the playoffs. They previously swept a series against Panathinaikos in 2018-19 and Maccabi in 2021-22.

Now, Real awaits the outcome of the ongoing series between FC Barcelona and Olympiacos Piraeus to determine their opponent in the upcoming Final Four semifinals. Currently, the Blaugranas lead the series 2-1 and could finish the series as soon as Thursday night on the road.

Meanwhile, Real has made it to the third consecutive Final Four, winning the trophy last year and finishing second in 2022.

The 2024 Final Four is scheduled to take place at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin, Germany, from May 24 to May 26. The semifinals are set to be played on Friday, with tipoff times at 18:00 and 21:00 local time. On Sunday, the action continues with the Third-Place Game at 17:00 local time, followed by the Championship Game three hours later.
