NPFL: Remo Stars dreams title as NFF summons Katsina United

Remo Stars head coach, Daniel Ogunmodede has claimed his side is in a good position to win the Nigeria Premier Football League title this season.

The Ikenne club moved within one point of the leaders, Rangers, after claiming a 2-1 home win against Rivers United on Monday.

Elsewhere, Rangers head coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu has played down his side’s title chances despite their leadership position on the table.

Ogunmodede said the title is in Remo Stars’ view and they will fight hard to win it.

”I think it (the title) is in view because my friend (Fidelis Ilechukwu) said they are still building, so, we are trying to capitalise on the fact that they are building and we are trying to get the trophy,” Ogunmodede told the club’s media.

The Sky Blue Stars finished in second position in the NPFL last season.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Football Federation has summoned Katsina United over the alleged wrongful dismissal of their former head coach, Tony Bolus.

Bolus had accused Katsina United of indebtedness to the tune of N38 million naira.

The note of summon was contained in a letter sent by the NFF to Katsina United on Tuesday.

Katsina United are expected to appear before the NFF players' status and arbitrary committee on Friday, May 10, 2024.

The meeting is scheduled for the NFF headquarters, Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja.

Bolus was fired by Katsina United earlier this year.
