Nigeria Nationwide League One side Greatness Sporting Club are in Lagos to participate in the Morak Africa Selected All Stars Scouting Tournament, www.234sportsng.com reports.
The Abakaliki-based team is one of the selected teams for the scouting program which will take place at the Legacy Pitch Surulere which is scheduled to begin on Monday 26th of February 2024.
We can confirm that the 21-man contingent arrived in Lagos safely, and are in high spirits looking to explore all the opportunities the scouting tournament offers.
According to the coach of the team, Felix Nwosu, it is an opportunity to continue to put the team in shape ahead of the NLO season as the team is well prepared to give it its best shot.
The coach who is fondly called Abacha told our correspondent upon arrival in Lagos that the team is looking to explore the business of the scouting tournament where some foreign scouts will be on the ground to select players for greater exploits in Europe when asked about the mission of the team in Lagos.
" We are in Lagos for business, first of all, it is an opportunity to see the boys in a competitive environment as we continue our preparation for the NLO season" began Abacha.
The former footballer continued: " We are also here to expose the raw talents in the team we believe a few of them will catch the eyes of the foreign scouts who are here for them".
" If we come from the East despite all the challenges of security, fuel scarcity coupled with the hike in transportation, I think we mean business and not coming to Lagos to count bridges" coach Felix Nwosu concludes.
The club that was just awarded the best football club in Ebonyi State for their professionalism will start their campaign against Charlesann FC at 3 pm on the opening day.
