NPFL 2023: Kwara United Coach resigns 

Coach Abdulazeez Mohammed has resigned as the Technical Adviser of Kwara United Football Club.

The coach told the media that he is stepping aside immediately after the team lost by 2-0 to Nasarawa United FC at the New Jos Stadium, in Plateau on Saturday.

The coach who lost his last three games said he is taking the bold step given the consistently poor results by his team and wish the best of luck as part ways.

 “I have to step aside given the consistent run of poor results. The potentials are there for us to do well, but, unfortunately, things are going the wrong way". 

Meanwhile, the General Manager of Kwara United Bashir Badawiy has reacted to the decision of the coach saying the management has accepted the decision of the coach and the next line of action will be announced soon. 

“We have accepted his resignation, as he has accepted full responsibility for the club’s poor run". 

We cannot continue like this, despite the commitment of the government, the management, and stakeholders". 

Kwara United FC unveiled him as the new Technical Adviser after the 2021/2022 season, he led their CAF Confederation campaign but the team failed to make the group stage.

The former AlHilal of Sudan made his coaching debut in the NPFL in 2020 with Katsina United, halfway into the season, and helped them to beat relegation but he was fired the following season following a string of poor results. 

He led Kwara United to just one victory out of seven scoring only two games. They fired blanks in six of the seven games played, scoring only five points out of the possible 21 points.
