NPFL: Rivers United, Lobi Stars pick Super Six tickets

Defending Champions Rivers United have secured a spot in the season-ending Super Six playoff of the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, after defeating Sunshine Stars by 1-0 in the rescheduled fixture played in Port Harcourt on Monday.
Morice Chukwu's goal in the 42nd minute turned out to be the decider as both teams gave a good account of themselves.
The scoreline took Rivers United to the top of the Group B table with 30 points, the same as Lobi Stars but with a superior goal difference.
The point is enough for Rivers United 5o finish as one of the top there teams in the group irrespective of what happens on the final day of the regular season by Sunday.
The result also paved the Super Six way for Lobi Stars as the " Shoe get size" side has unassailable points by the chasing pack with a game to go.
It remains only a spot in the group to be filled for the Super Six Doma United, Sunshine Stars, and Abia Warriors will battle for the only remaining slot.
However Doma United will see if they can pull it through if they pick the maximum three points in their rescheduled match against the Pride of Rivers on Wednesday.
The final group A and B matches will be played on Sunday as the regular season ends after 18 rounds of matches.
The top 3 finishers in the group will play in the Super Six playoff starting on June 3rd in Lagos and the winner will be grown the League champions and also pick a ticket with the 1st runner up for the CAF Champions League, while 2nd runner up will represent the country in the CAF Confederation.
