Jordi Alba on the plane to Miami, Luis Suarez may join later

Barcelona legend Jordi Alba is officially on his way to America, as Inter Miami fans are buzzing at the sight of the Spanish left-back linking up with ex-Barcelona teammates Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets in South Florida.

The 34-year-old's signing was technically unveiled by the Herons exactly a week ago on Saturday, with Alba agreeing to a contract running through the 2024 MLS season.

On Saturday, the 2014-15 Champions League winner shared a snap of himself on a private plane, while holding his large dog on Instagram, as he prepared for take-off from Barcelona.

'Here we go!' he wrote as a caption to the post.

Alba's family also wished him a good trip, with the player sharing a picture of himself saying goodbye to his three children, Piero, Bruna, and newborn Paolo on Instagram.

'Have a safe trip Dad

,' reads the post's caption. 'Soon we will all be together. We love you! Go for it!!'

Alba's wife, Romarey Ventura, who is also an internet personality in Spain, gave birth to the pair's youngest child, Paolo, roughly 10 days ago.

Alba has made 93 international appearances for Spain and was part of the squad which won Euro 2012, despite his omission from the national team's 2010 World Cup-winning squad under then-manager Vincente Del Bosque.

The player also holds an option to extend his Inter Miami contract until 2025.

Luis Suarez has confirmed that he will leave Brazilian Serie A side Gremio earlier than expected, denying any speculation tipping him to reunite with Lionel Messi at Inter Miami, of the MLS.

The 36-year-old, Uruguay star initially joined Gremio on a two-year deal in January but revealed on Saturday that the club has agreed to renegotiate the length of his contract, bringing it to an end in December of this year.

Suarez was one of Messi's former Barcelona teammates who was widely tipped to follow the Argentine's path to the MLS after Inter Miami recruited Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba.

But, the striker has been quick to deny such talks.

'I'm well aware that Inter Miami spoke with Gremio and that the club told them that I have a contract. I can say that [Inter Miami] has not spoken to me,' Suarez revealed.

Together, Messi and Suarez won three LaLiga titles, one Copa del Rey, a Supercopa de Espana, a Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup after the latter's £64.98million move from Liverpool in the summer of 2014.
