PSG star Kylian Mbappe's mother has denied claims that her son is set to stay at Paris Saint-Germain after agreeing to a contract extension with the club.

French newspaper Le Parisien had claimed that negotiations between PSG and the player's parents have intensified in recent hours and the player is closer to renewing his contract and staying with PSG.

However, Mbappe's mother Fayza Lamary has exclusively told MARCA that this is not the case.

"It is completely false that Kylian has renewed," she said, denying reports from Le Parisien, while also signalling that Real Madrid are "his first option".

It was reported by Le Parisien that the agreement was for a salary of 50 million euros per year for Mbappe for the two seasons, plus an option of another.

There was also a loyalty bonus of 100 million euros when he signed the contract. In addition, PSG had convinced him by presenting an ambitious sporting project.

Meanwhile, at Real Madrid there is still the utmost calm. The club are confident in the way the negotiations have been handled and believe that the job has been done.

Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti gave a cryptic answer when asked about a possible swoop for PSG's No7.

The Italian said: "Mbappe to Real Madrid?

"With this club, with this president, the future is already written."

When quizzed whether he had just confirmed that the transfer would be going ahead, Ancelotti added: "I didn't say that."

Mbappe told Amazon Prime last month that he hadn't made his decision yet.

He said: "Everyone knows that I haven't made my choice.

"I'm thinking because there are new elements, I don't want to be wrong. I want to make the right choice.

"I know that for people, it's a little late to make the decision.

"But I am accountable to no one. It's a personal choice. It is me who makes the decision. I want to make the best decision possible."

Despite speculation surrounding his future, Mbappe has continued to excel for PSG this season.

He has bagged 24 goals and 16 assists in 32 Ligue 1 appearances on his side's way to winning the title.
