Alcaraz dreams Indian Wells title 

Tennis star Carlos Alcaraz has confirmed that he is healthy and fit as the Spaniard admits his goal is to win the Indian Wells Masters and return to the top spot.

During the Golden Swing, Alcaraz picked up a hamstring injury and he was forced to skip Acapulco.

Now, Alcaraz is set to return to action at the Indian Wells Masters. "I'm [feeling] really good right now. Today was the first practice that I practised with some players, [played] some points. I feel great. I took some days off and it was really good for me.

Alcaraz, who became the youngest No 1 in tennis history after winning last year's US Open, is now ranked at No 2 in the world.

If Alcaraz wins the Indian Wells title, he will also replace Novak Djokovic at the top spot. "It's a really good goal for me. Of course playing a Masters 1000 is always tough and I really want to have a good result here. I love this tournament as well.

For me, winning the tournament and being No. 1 again is a really good goal and I really want to go for it," Alcaraz said. Alcaraz wants the Indian Wells title but admits he is not the top favorite for the title. "On hard court I think I'm a really good tennis player, so I'm going to go for it.

I don't consider myself a favourite to win the tournament because [it has been] a long time since I played on hard court. Of course there are a lot of great players in this draw that have chances to win the tournament. I would say that I have my chances to win the tournament and I'm going to [try to] take it," Alcaraz explained.

Top-seeded Alcaraz has a first-round bye in Indian Wells and he is kicking off his campaign against the winner of the match between Thanasi Kokkinakis and Brandon Holt.
