Tennis superstar Rafael Nadal has congratulated Senegal's Sadio Mane on winning the Africa Cup of Nations.

Senegal defeated Egypt to win this year's AFCON and Nadal took to Instagram to congratulate Mane.

In the end of his message, Nadal expressed a desire to one day meet with Mane in person. "I want to congratulate you. It's amazing that you achieved the Africa Cup, I think, for the first time. I am very happy for you.

I wish you all the very best," Nadal said. "Enjoy this incredible achievement, and I hope one day we will meet. See you soon!"

After Nadal won a record 21st Grand Slam title at the Australian Open, Mane shared a congratulatory message to the Spaniard.

"I want to say congratulations," Mane said. "I watched [the 2022 Australian Open final]. You were unbelievable. And, hopefully, we are also going to make it."

Nadal was down by two sets to Daniil Medvedev before he stormed back to win the Australian Open final in five sets.

“At the end history is about the victory, but the way that you win the match in terms of personal feelings is different,” Nadal said. “The way that I achieved this trophy tonight was just unforgettable, one of the most emotional matches of my tennis career, without a doubt.

[It] means a lot to me." The next tournament on Nadal's tournament schedule is Acapulco. The Acapulco event starts on February 21. "I signed up for Acapulco and Indian Wells, but I have to make a decision that are in accordance with what my body allows me to do.

Acapulco is the closer one, I would like to be there but I have to see what the perspective are," Nadal said. Nadal last played in Acapulco in 2020. Back then, Nadal beat Taylor Fritz in the final to lift the title.
