Super-agent predicts Napoli will sell Osimhen in 2024

The recent renewal of his contract notwithstanding, Italian league defending champion, Napoli, will sell Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen in the summer of 2024 according to Italian super-agent, Dario Canovi.

Though Osimhen just penned a contract extension with Napoli on Christmas Eve Canovi predicted that Napoli will sell their talismanic striker, Osimhen next summer.

The Nigeria international is now contracted to the Serie A champions until 2026.

A release clause in the region of €130m to €140m is also reportedly inserted in the contract.

With Napoli struggling to replicate last season’s form which saw them win the Scudetto for the first time in 33 years, Canovi stated the 24-year-old will leave the Partenopei at the end of the current campaign.

He further said the contract renewal is to increase the forward’s price tag.

“Napoli have been in difficulty since the start of the championship. In my opinion, the departure of (Luciano) Spalletti and (Cristiano) Giuntoli caused what is happening,” Canovi told TMW.

“Having let both of them leave, the club was practically massacred, they were the cornerstones of Napoli who won. Giuntoli and especially Spalletti.

“Osimhen is a renewal that simply serves to increase the price. In my opinion, he will go away in June.”
