Roma, Milan, Juve want Hazard after Madrid sack

After Real Madrid sack, Serie A, MLS and the Saudi leagues are the options open to Eden Hazard or retirement.

The white team has announced that they have terminated their contract with the Belgian player on the 30th, which is one year earlier than what was originally agreed upon.

The time of Hazard at Real Madrid has come to an end. What began with a love affair by Zinedine Zidane for the Belgian ends with him being fired by the club one year before his contract expires.

The decision comes as a bit of a shock as the ex-Chelsea player said he was happy to stay and play out his contract.

Real Madrid wanted to negotiate the player away with other teams on a possible sale and maybe get some of the money they spent on him.

Unfortunately, no team was willing to bet on him at his contract’s expense, which is around 15 million euros net a year.

He is the second-highest earner aside from Benzema. Thus they were faced with the decision to keep him one more year and have him take up a spot for another player or cut him, and they chose the latter.

Looking back at his stellar signing, how much did Real Madrid pay for Eden Hazard?

Real Madrid signed Eden Hazard from Chelsea during the summer transfer window of 2019 for a fee of approximately $107 million.

His performance with the Spanish giant has resulted in seven goals and 11 assists in 73 total games.

Meanwhile, Serie A sides including Roma, Juventus and Milan are interested in Hazard.

The Belgium international only recently turned 32, but his last few years have been badly affected by injury problems.

Hazard is now a free agent and The Athletic report that retirement is one of the options he is considering this summer, but Serie A could be an intriguing opportunity.

Milan and Juventus had been linked with a move for Hazard in the past, though he would need to take a significant pay cut.

Roma also have to be an alternative with Jose Mourinho at the helm, seeing as Hazard worked with the coach at Chelsea.

The Giallorossi must remain within Financial Fair Play parameters and are looking at several free agents.
