The captain of the Nigeria women’s team, Onome Ebi has hailed the spirited display of the Super Falcons in Monday’s highly entertaining semi-final match against Morocco’s Atlas Lionesses.

Though it was the Lionesses that won the match, the Super Falcons with their dogged display won the hearts of millions across the world. 

Unfortunately, Onome  Ebi prematurely had to quit Monday’s game against the Lionesses having cupped a hamstring injury.

She was nonetheless impressed how her teammates gave their all but it wasn’t enough

On Tuesday on her Facebook page, she wrote: All I have to say to this amazing team is that I am super proud of us all.

We lost the game but we fought till the end against all odds ????????????????. 

Super Falcons we remain unstoppable ????????. Thank you all for standing with us ???????? , we keep going stronger ????????

Nigeria, Morocco, South Africa and Zambia have qualified automatically for the 32-team FIFA Women’s World Cup fiesta to be staged in five Australian cities and four New Zealand cities from 20th July – 20th August 2023.

Cameroon and Senegal will battle for slots at a 10-team Playoff Tournament in New Zealand early next year.

The Super Falcons have arrived in Casablanca on Tuesday for Friday’s third-place match against Zambia at the Complexe Mohamed V.
