Former captain of the Super Falcons, Desire Oparanozie has arrived at the Turkey camp of the Super Falcons ahead of the Friendly match against Haiti on Friday in preparedness for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, (FIFAWWC) in New Zealand, www.234sportsng.com reports 

The forward has been in and out of the Super Falcons fold for her lead role in the well-publicized bonus and allowance protest by the Super Falcons after the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup.

The Wuhan Jiangda forward last played for Nigeria about two years as she only features as a fringe member of the Randy Waldrum team.

She was picked out for blame after the lackluster performance of the Super Falcons at the Aisha Buhari Cup by the Nigeria Football Federation and only got a look in July 2021 when she was part of the Austria camp of team.

Though she was invited but missed out on the 2022 Women’s African Cup of Nations in Morocco due to COVID-19 travel restrictions in China the Stheer Falcons could only finish in an all-time low, fourth position.

According to the official Twitter handle of the Nigeria Women National team, her arrival from her base in China increased the number of players in camp to 20 as Yewande Balogun, Regina Otu, Esther Okoronkwo, Onome Ebi, Etim Iyene, Abiodun Deborah, Halimatu Ayinde, Vivian Ikechukwu, and Glory Ogbonna made it on Tuesday. 

Wednesday, saw ten new arrivals, they include Tosin Demehin, Rofiat Imuran, Chiamaka Nnadozie, Ashleigh Plumptre, Gift Monday, Asisat Oshoala, Ngozi Okobi, Toni Payne, and Rasheedat Ajibade arrived at camp.

Five more players are still been expected at the time filling in this report as  American based quartet of Ifeoma Onumonu, Michelle Alozie, Uchenna Kanu, and Jennifer Onyi Echegini and Spain-based Osinachi Ohale are nowhere near the camp.

Nigeria will play Haiti on Friday at the Emir Sports Complex in Antalya, Turkey then follows it up with World Cup co-hosts New Zealand at the Mardan Sports Complex on Tuesday.
