Team Nigeria

When Team Nigeria is filing out on Monday night for the Closing Ceremony alongside the over 70 countries that took part in the 2022 Commonwealth Games, they will be doing so with a sense of accomplishment.

In its history of participating in the Commonwealth Games, this is Nigeria’s best outing having amassed a total of 35 medals; 12 Gold, 9 Silver and 14 Bronze Medals in Birmingham.

As expected, the congratulatory messages have already started pouring in for the Nigeria contingent who braved the odds to register a decent performance in the 10-day sporting fiesta.

While all 94 athletes that made it to Birmingham deserve one form of commendation or the other, here are those who contributed at least one medal or the other to Nigeria’s historic total haul at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
