In a highly anticipated match between Brazil and Nigeria, the South American giants emerged victorious with a 2-0 win.

The game, which took place in an electric atmosphere, saw Brazil showcase their prowess and secure an important victory.

This is the sixth time Nigeria will be facing Brazil at the U-20 World Cup and the South Americans remain unbeaten with five wins and just a draw to their credit.

The first half began with both teams exhibiting a strong desire to take the lead. Despite their best efforts, neither side managed to find the back of the net in the opening 15 minutes. Nigeria came close to breaking the deadlock when Jude Sunday's cross found Emmanuel Umeh, but his shot struck the crossbar, leaving the Nigerian contingent frustrated.

In a tightly contested match, it was the South Americans who showed their quality in front of goal when it counted most.

Brazil, however, capitalized on their chances. In the 44th minute, Jean rose to Simon's corner kick and executed a well-placed header, leaving the Nigerian goalkeeper helpless as the ball found the back of the net. The Brazilian fans erupted with joy as their team took the lead.

The South American dominance continued just before the halftime whistle. Savio orchestrated a brilliant run, piercing through Nigeria's defense, and delivered a precise pass to Marquinhos, who calmly slotted the ball into the net. With a two-goal advantage, Brazil headed into halftime with confidence, firmly in control of the game.

Though coach Ladan Bosso made a flurry of changes in the second half to salvage the game, it did not work out well for the seven-time African champions.

With the result, Group D has now been blown wide open. Brazil will go to the next round with 6 points, Italy will go forward in 2nd on the same tally and Nigeria will have to settle for a best 3rd placed finish as they're goal difference is inferior to the Italians. Incredible to think they started the day sitting atop the group.
