Another Nigerian striker has completed a transfer deadline move following the confirmation by Ligue 1 club OG Nice that they have snapped up Terem Moffi from rivals Lorient.
According to the details revealed, the 23-year-old Moffi has signed for Nice initially on loan until the end of the season when the transfer will become permanent with the striker signing a contract to 2027.
Reports suggest Nice will part with as much as 25 million euros ($27.1m) plus a possible five million euros more in bonuses, making Moffi their record signing.
Moffi has been in top form this season with 12 goals in Ligue 1 just behind Kylian Mbappe, who has 13 for Paris Saint-Germain.
Marseille and clubs in the English Premier League were all interested in the Nigerian striker who has opted to stay on in French.
Moffi’s signing is a statement of intent by Nice, who currently lie in mid-table in Ligue 1 but have ambitions of challenging at the top of the standings under their owners Ineos.
