Wimbledon Open: Draws favour Swiatek
Iga Swiatek

World No 1 Iga Swiatek has learned her projected path to landing her first Wimbledon title.Swiatek, seeded at No 1, starts against 33rd-ranked Zhu Lin, who has just one win in her previous four Wimbledon main draw appearances.

In her next match, Swiatek faces the winner of the match between Martina Trevisan and Sara Sorribes Tormo.

In the Wimbledon third round, Swiatek might face a seeded player for the first time as the Pole could play No 30 seed Petra Martic or rising star Linda Fruhvirtova.

In the Wimbledon round-of-16, Swiatek could meet old 14th-seeded Belinda Bencic or this year's Australian Open semifinalist Magda Linette.

The Wimbledon quarterfinal could feature a rematch of the 2022 French Open final as Swiatek is projected to meet No 7 seed Cori Gauff in that stage.

In the Wimbledon semifinal, Swiatek could very easily meet No 4 seed Jessica Pegula or fifth-seeded Carolina Garcia.

If Swiatek reaches the Wimbledon final, she would likely meet either No 2 seed Aryna Sabalenka or third-seeded Elena Rybakina.

On Thursday, Swiatek easily beat Anna Blinkova to reach her first grass semifinal. But on Friday afternoon, Swiatek announced she had a very tough night after suffering suspected food poisoning.

"I'm so sorry but I have to pull out of my match today.

I had a restless night because of some fever and possible food poisoning. I'm not able to perform today and I need to take care of myself. I hope I'll be fine soon.

Your support in Bad Homburg was amazing, thank you," Swiatek announced.Suffering food poisoning just two days before the start of a Grand Slam is definitely not a positive thing for Swiatek.

It will be interesting to see if this will leave any impact on Swiatek at Wimbledon.
