Ring walks can be used to intimidate, entertain or pump fighters up, but Jared Anderson’s most recent march to the ring took a more serious tone.

On Saturday night, arguably the most exciting prospect in the heavyweight division engaged in his 12th contest and added a 12th consecutive knockout victory in a row, this time getting the better of Miljan Rovcanin.

Before the fight, Anderson made his ring walk in a prison outfit, with his hands and feet shackled, as the commentator revealed that the American had said to them:

“My brother is in prison and my ring walk outfit will draw attention to that.”

This is not the first time we have seen Anderson with an experimental ring walk. He’s previously dressed up as horror icon, Chucky the doll.

The American has also made the walk dressed in a white overcoat and top hat inspired by the rapper Pimp C.

In terms of what’s next for Anderson, he has told talkSPORT that he wants to go one better than Anthony Joshua, who took 16 fights to win a world title, by getting a shot at one of the belts within the next 12 months.

While it is still early days, many have tipped the 22-year-old to become a world champion at some point in his career, with Anderson’s promoter, Bob Arum, even comparing him to Muhammad Ali.

In reaction to the Ali comparison, Anderson told talkSPORT: “I’m not a fan of it to be honest. I want to be me.

“I respect [Ali] and I’m happy that people are comparing me to him, but I just want to be me and be the best me I can be.”
