Fury vs Usyk

Loquacious Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk's fight negotiations have become a statements war between both boxers promoters in the past 24 hours, with Usyk's promoter Alex Krassyuk saying that Fury's camp rejected the last offer which included 60% of the purse going to the winner of the bout.

The proposed date for the fight is April 29, with Wembley Stadium as the apparently chosen venue, but now it appears that money is becoming the impasse in negotiations.

After Frank Warren, Tyson Fury's manager placed pressure on Usyk's camp by saying that negotiation must end this week given the proximity of the chosen fight date, now Krassyuk has come out and said that apparently Fury and Warren want a guaranteed sum of money instead of a purse percentage.

"We are not asking for a figure, we are asking for a split and probably the split doesn't work well if someone is asking for a figure, and I can definitely say that it's not our party. We have said that we want this fight to happen as much as possible and we are in the position to share whatever the fight generates. If it generates a lot, then we are happy to share it. If it doesn't, it is what it is," he expressed to talkSPORT.

Krassyuk also explained that for him and Oleksandr Usyk is more about the glory and the legacy than about money, even saying that maybe Fury wants to avoid the danger and stay in a comfortable position.

"We initially agreed for 50/50," he continued, "But then Tyson was asking for some bigger money. So we made it clear that we are ready to go 60/40, but the winner takes 60."

He then explained that Fury's side refused that offer, being their latest.
