As Watford manager Roy Hodgson issues striking Watford relegation message ahead of Southampton clash at St Mary's Stadium on Sunday, six Nigerians may go down with the club if they are eventually relegated.

They are Emmanuel Dennis, Samuel Kalu, Maduka Okoye currently on loan at Sparta Rotterdam, Dele Bashiru on loan at Reading, William Troost-Ekong and Oghenekaro Etebo

Hodgson admits that Watford are "running out of time" in their bid to avoid relegation from the Premier League as they prepare to face Southampton.

The Hornets travel to St Mary's this weekend to face Ralph Hasenhuttl's side on Sunday, with the Hertfordshire side second from bottom in the table and three points from safety with ten games to play.

The two sides immediately above Hodgson's Hornets - Burnley and Everton - both have games in hand on Watford, with the Clarets having two and the Toffees having three.

And after seeing his side lose 4-0 at Molineux against Wolves, Hodgson spoke to the press and admitted that Watford need results quickly if they are to get themselves out of trouble as he singled out captain Moussa Sissoko for praise.

"I thought Moussa Sissoko, and everything he did [against Wolves] was fantastic," he said.
