Ronaldo's unveiling in Saudi Arabia had more views than the World Cup final

Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo's arrival at Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia has caused a stir in the country, and the spectacular reception given to the Portuguese is a testament to that.

The signing of the No.7 has turned the attention of thousands of fans to the Arabian outfit, as evidenced by the fact that when Al Nassr announced the signing of Cristiano, the number of followers on his Instagram account skyrocketed.

Moreover, the striker's official presentation with his new club was watched around the globe and had more views than the World Cup final between France and Argentina.

Journalist Pedro Sepuleda said that Cristiano Ronaldo's presentation ceremony at Al Nassr reached "3 billion views on 40 channels around the world".

That figure would have surpassed on those same 40 channels the number of views of the Qatar World Cup final between France and Argentina, where Messi's team won the title after a thrilling penalty shootout.

Although the Portuguese star was released by Manchester United, he did not escape a sanction imposed by the English Football Association (FA) and must pay a two-match ban for snatching and smashing an Everton fan's phone.

According to the British newspaper Daily Mail, article 12.1 of FIFA's Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players states that Cristiano has to fulfill the punishment he was given in the Premier League, although he has even changed continent.

"Any disciplinary sanction of up to four matches or up to three months which has been imposed on a player by the previous association but which has not yet been (fully) served at the time of transfer shall be enforced by the new association with which the player is registered so that the sanction is enforced at national level," read the regulations regarding Ronaldo's ban.
