Belgium and Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has admitted he's "not happy" at Stamford Bridge and will hold showdown talks with the Premier League club's hierarchy on Monday.

Thomas Tuchel has confirmed Lukaku will hold the showdown talks with Chelsea on Monday.

The Belgian recently admitted he is "not happy" at Stamford Bridge after his £97.5million move from Inter Milan last summer.

Lukaku's surprising comments to the Italian press were made a few weeks ago but were not broadcast until the end of December.

Chelsea manager Tuchel dropped the striker for Sunday's Premier League game against Liverpool - which finished 2-2 - as a result of the comments.

He's now set to discuss his future with the Blues, with a January transfer potentially on the horizon.

Speaking after Chelsea's draw against Liverpool, Tuchel said: "We will decide it tomorrow, have a meeting from there and inform you."

And, According to US broadcaster NBC, Lukaku told his former Everton team-mate Tim Howard about Monday's meeting.

"I can’t say too much," Lukaku is alleged to have said. "The situation is hot. I have another meeting on Monday. After that, I can say more."

Lukaku's recent interview stunned European football, leaving many wondering what's next for the prolific forward.

He's scored seven goals in 18 appearances for Chelsea this term.

"Physically I'm fine, even better than before," he said. "After two years in Italy, in which I worked a lot at Inter with trainers and nutritionists, I am physically fine.

"But I'm not happy with the situation, this is normal. I think the coach has chosen to play with another system, I just have to not give up and continue to work and be a professional.

"I am not happy with the situation, but I am a worker and I must not give up... I think everything that happened was not supposed to happen like this.

"How I left Inter, how I communicated with the fans, this bothers me because it is not the right time now, but even when I left it was not the right time.

"Now I think it is right to speak because I have always said that I have Inter in my heart, I will return to play there, I really hope so.

"I am in love with Italy, this is rightly the time to talk and let people know what really happened without talking badly about people because I am not like that."

Many have criticised Lukaku for his comments, including Trevor Sinclair. "I'm in absolute shock," the former Premier League midfielder told talkSPORT.

Former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink said Lakaku is "disrespectful".

"For him to come out with those comments, I think he should be apologising to the Chelsea fans. That’s so disrespectful to the Chelsea fans.

"I think that’s so disrespectful to the Chelsea manager. I’d be astounded if he hadn’t had a conversation with Thomas Tuchel about this."
