Saudi football club Al Nassr have parted company with manager Rudi Garcia and appointed his replacement less than half an hour later.

The club's under-19 coach Dinko Jelicic was handed the job of getting the Saudi side back on track and managing stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo.

Garcia leaves the club in second place of the Saudi Pro League, three points behind Al-Ittihad Club.

The club released a statement that read: "Al Nassr can announce that Head Coach Rudi Garcia has left the Club by mutual agreement.

"The board and everyone at Al Nassr would like to thank Rudi and his staff for their dedicated work during the past eight months."

Garcia, 59, took charge of the Middle Eastern side in June 2022.

The ex-Marseille and Roma boss won 18 of his 26 games at the helm, losing just three times.

But with Al Nassr now falling behind in the title race, the 2011 Ligue 1 winner with Lille has been given his marching orders.

Stunning reports on Wednesday claim a bust-up with Ronaldo also played a huge role in Garcia's downfall.

Garcia is said to have clashed with several other players, prompting Ronaldo to seek talks with Al Nassr chiefs.

Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho has reportedly been offered a big money deal to be the next manager at  Al-Nassr.

But Calciomercato journalist Rudy Galetti reports that the legendary Portuguese coach is "seriously thinking" about the role.

He would reportedly be handed a whopping contract of £52m-a-year by the mega-rich club.

Al-Nassr are looking to make waves in football and announced the signing of Ronaldo, 38, at the end of 2022.

While the forward has not struggled for goals, Al-Nassr still find themselves three points off the pace in the Saudi Pro League.

The 60-year-old has a complicated relationship with Ronaldo.

Angel Di Maria claimed they once had a dressing room fight after the star winger was accused of laziness at Real Madrid.

But tensions definitely seemed to have cooled with Ronaldo reportedly wanting Mourinho as the Portugal manager before Roberto Martinez got the gig.

They were at the Bernabeu for three years together and won the La Liga title in the 2011-12 season.

Even by his high standards, Ronaldo enjoyed an outstanding year and scored 46 goals in 38 league games.

His old rival Lionel Messi still managed to beat him in the scoring charts by getting 50 La Liga goals but his Barcelona side finished 9 points behind.
