NPFL: Kano Pillars, Remo Stars vow to build on wins

Kano Pillars head coach Abdul Maikaba is delighted with his side’s victory against Rivers United.

Maikaba said the encounter will linger in his memory for a long time, considering the manner in which they secured the victory.

Veteran midfielder Rabiu Ali netted the winning goal in stoppage time.

The experienced tactician expressed delight with the victory against the Pride of Rivers.

Maikaba added that lack of experience also played its part as his players failed to capitalise on their chances early in the game.

Kano Pillars climbed up to ninth place following the win.

The Sai Masu Gida will be away to Rangers on matchday five.

Elsewhere, league leader Remo Stars goalkeeper, Kayode Bankole has expressed his delight following the club’s win against Sporting Lagos.

The Sky Blue Stars defeated Sporting Lagos 2-1 at the Remo Stars Stadium on Sunday.

Bankole said the victory gave the team the bragging right over their South West rival.

He also thanked the club fans for their support throughout the encounter.

“Hi, the Sky Blue fans, thank you for the support we love you all,” he said on X handle.

“Vïctory feeling, we secured the bragging right in the Southwest derby, Thank God, We will meet again Sporting Lagos.”

Remo Stars currently top the Nigeria Premier Football League table following the win.
