Enyimba FC defeated Nasarawa United at the New Jos Stadium on Saturday in the Week 1 encounter played in the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, played on Saturday.

Two first goals from Elijah Akanni and Imo Omot in the 32nd and 37th minutes respectively ensured that Enyimba picked all the points at stake as Oche Josiah rebounds after Ikeena Ofor'spenalty kick was saved by Olorunleke in the 87th minute.

The Lafia-based team tried to pull a dramatic comeback but it was a bit too little and the only could only serve as a consolation for Nasarawa United.

The second game of the season produces a similar to the first game of the season as Bendel Insurance also scored two first-half goals to pick the maximum three points away from home.

So far the two matches have ended with the away teams scoring twice in the first half and as well winning away from home.

The remaining week one fixture continues on Sunday as the 2023 season promises to be exciting if these early signs are anything to go by.
