Sporting Lagos football club of Lagos has booked a place in the Nigeria Premier Football League after the team defeated Stormers of Abeokuta by 2-0 on Monday afternoon at the ongoing Nigeria National League, NNL Super 8 in Asaba.

The Lagos based team was in firm control of the Southern Conference having won their first game against FC One Rocket by 1-0, as they needed a victory in the South West derby to consolidate their stay on top of the log.

They kept to faith by inflicting a 2-0 over the Stormers, combined with results elsewhere as Heartland defeated FC One Rocket by 1-0, this pave their way to the country's elite football league NPFL, as the Lagos based returned to Lagos as one of the venues of the league next season with a game to spare.

Six points from the two games are enough to guarantee a minimum top finish as only Heartland FC has a mathematical chance of scoring more points.

They become the first team to pick one of the available tickets to play in the NPFL next season as Heartland and Abeokuta Stormers battle for the remaining ticket in the Southern Conference in a winner takes all matchup.
