Tennis' so-called 'big three' are showing no signs of going away and letting the next generation come through in peace, with Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Roger Federer still major forces in the sport.

The three have dominated tennis for years now, and they have won as many as 59 of the last 69 majors on offer between them.

The latest came as Djokovic beat Nick Kyrgios at Wimbledon on Sunday afternoon for his latest major triumph.

Only six men have managed to stop them from claiming titles in the last 15 years or so, those being Juan Martin Del Potro (winning one of the last 69 majors), Andy Murray (three), Stan Wawrinka (three), Marin Cilic (one), Dominic Thiem (one), and Daniil Medvedev (one).

With Federer injured and Djokovic unable to enter the United States due to his refusal to be vaccinated against COVID-19, Nadal is the old guard's only hope of extending their stranglehold on tennis in the US Open.
