In the three most prominent qualifiers across Nigeria - Abuja, PH, and Lagos - an astonishingly high amount of over 100 registered participants/players was recorded.

This is a tremendous achievement in such a short period and is indicative of the growing popularity of this competition among the youth in Nigeria.

After intense qualifiers, only eight brave finalists emerged to battle each other at the National Finals to fight for the ultimate title of champion and face the incredible pressure of the cage.

The stakes were high as everyone wanted to come out victorious and take home the trophy at the February 3rd final held at the Old Carriage & Running Shed, Ebute Metta Train Station, Lagos.

The eight finalists from across Nigeria were namely. Chukwudi Okoli (the eventual champion), Kevin Dürst,  Folorunsho Akanbi, Tahir Alhassan, Nuhu Ogbori, Shehu Shehu Mansur, Agbalaka Chike Kingsley and Quaye Moses.

The event saw epic battles from all participants with “Chux” Chukwudi Okoli the defending champion, taking down his opponents who clearly put up a tough fight.

While “Sheikhster” Shehu Mansur was expected to put up a masterclass performance good enough to dethrone Chux in the final, he came down hard but the defending champion held his own up until the last round and came out on top yet again.

The atmosphere, ambience and reception were one to remember and the memories of this year's tournament as a whole will definitely linger for a long time to come.
