Injured Mbappe may miss Madrid vs PSG clash
According to Le Parisien, Mbappe will undergo more scans in the next 48 hours to determine the extent of the injury
French forward Kylian Mbappe picked up a knock during Paris Saint-Germain's training session on Monday and is now doubtful for the Champions League last-16 second leg against Real Madrid on Wednesday.
The 23-year-old stood out in the first leg of the last-16 tie between the two teams and netted a stoppage-time winner to hand PSG a 1-0 victory at the Parc des Princes.
According to Le Parisien, Mbappe will undergo more scans in the next 48 hours to determine the extent of the injury ahead of the crucial match at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, but PSG have ruled out a possible fracture.
Taking into account the importance of the game in the Spanish capital, Mbappe is expected to feature against Real Madrid, but PSG are concerned as his potential absence could be a noticeable blow for the French side.
Real Madrid made an offer to acquire Mbappe's services last summer, but PSG were not willing to cash in on the forward, whose contract expires on June 30.
Meanwhile Idrissa Gueye whose tackle in training led to Mbappe’s injury has been subjected to a flurry of hateful comments on social media.
Gueye accidentally stood on Mbappe's foot after trying to play the ball, which caused the French forward to immediately start limping.
Once a video emerged of the incident, some people decided to attack Gueye on social media by sending hateful and racist messages.
His partner, Pauline, also received a number of abusive comments on her various posts on Instagram.
As a result of the hateful nature of the comments, both Gueye and his partner decided to turn off comments on their posts.
