Veteran coach Joseph Emmanuel Sarpong has advised Black Stars coach Otto Addo to call up players in good form for next month’s tie against Nigeria.

“Ghana vs Nigeria game is just like Hearts of Oak vs Asante Kotoko,” he told Kumasi based Oyerepa FM.

“We need to approach the match with all the best materials available. Players playing in top leagues with good form should be those invited for the two-leg tie. No agency call-ups,” he added.

Ghana and Nigeria face off in late March in the playoffs of the 2022 FIFA World Cup scheduled for Qatar.

Black Stars will first host the Super Eagles in Cape Coast before travelling to Abuja for the second leg.

The winner of the two-legged tie will join four other African countries to represent the continent at the global showpiece.

Black Stars are hoping to make a return to the Mundial after missing the 2018 edition in Russia.

Meanwhile, Ghana forward Kamaldeen Suleman ruled out of Montpellier clash, remains doubt for Nigeria game

Winger Sulemana has been ruled out of Stade Rennais trip to Montpellier due to an injury he picked in training.

The Ghana international missed the 4-1 victory over Troyes last week and manager Bruno Genesio is unsure how long the youngster will spend on the sidelines.

“Sulemana has isthmic lysis, a small crack in a vertebra. It's annoying. We don't really know, but it could take some time. Due to shock? No, it's a bit like a stress fracture," he said in a pre-match conference for the game against Montpellier.

Sulemana has been a key member of the Ligue One side since joining from FC Nordsjaelland last summer.

His absence will be a huge blow for Rennais who have drawn Leicester City in the UEFA Europa Conference league.

Ghanaians will be hoping he recovers in time for the World Cup play-off qualifier against the Super Eagles of Nigeria in March.
