FIFA paid NFF $1.2 for the Falcons’ participation at the 2023 World Women’s Cup, also N 400 million from MTN

The NFF can no longer hide under their often-used excuse of “no money” because they have received more than a billion Naira from FIFA for the Super Falcons' fine run at this year’s Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

According to insideglasshouse.com FIFA last month paid the NFF $1.2 Million (more than a Billion Naira) as their share from the country’s performance at the Women’s World Cup, where the Super Falcons reached the knockout rounds before they lost to eventual finalists England.

Officials also said the football federation has received 400 Million Naira from sponsors and telecommunications giants MTN.

“The NFF have some financial cushion now from these payments and so they should be able to clear some of their debts as well as get on with some of their activities rather than keep waiting on the Government to do everything for them,” a top source revealed.

“They got the money from FIFA last month after the world football governing body deducted 32% from what was due to them for the Falcons advancing to the Round of 16.”
