Efe Ajagba faces an Italian opponent as he defends his WBC Silver title on Saturday

WBC Silver heavyweight champion, Nigerian Efe Ajagba, will defend his title against Italian Guido Vianello, on Saturday, April 13 at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Ajagba (19-1, 14 KOs), originally from Ughelli, Nigeria, and now a resident of Stafford, Texas, stopped prospect Joseph Goddall in the fourth round of his most recent fight on Nov. 4.

Vianello comes into this fight after defeating Moses Johnson in the first round. The 29-year-old has won his last two fights since he lost by knockout to Jonathan Rice on January 14 of last year.

Vianello believes that an impressive victory over Ajagba would open the door for him to face the best fighters in the heavyweight division.

In the other main event on the card, undefeated heavyweight phenom Jared “The Real Big Baby” Anderson will look for another big knockout when he faces Belgian contender Ryad Merhy.

Both fights will air live on ESPN (10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT).
