Olympic champion, Jasmine Camacho-Quinn had the upper hand as she beat Nigeria's Oluwatobiloba Amusan to first position in the 100m hurdles at the Diamond League in Lausanne on Friday night.

Camacho-Quinn won the race with a time of 12.34s which was a new Meet Record.

On her part, Amusan had to settle for second position having posted a time of  12.45s while America’s Tia Jones was third with a time of 12.47s.

Amusan who has been in very impressive form in recent times was heavily tipped to lower her World Record in Lausanne but that wasn't the case.

The 25-year-old won gold medal at the 2022 World Athletics Championships setting a new world record of 12.12 seconds in the semifinal, followed up by a wind-assisted 12.06 seconds in the final.

She went on to silence her critics with another record at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham where she won gold with a time of 12.34s.
