 Team Nigeria hurdler Ezekiel Nathaniel and sprinter Rosemary Chukwuma will be competing for a place in the finals of men 400m hurdles and women’s men 100m respectively Monday evening.    

For Nathaniel to qualify for the final he must finish first or second in his heat or be one of the two fastest losers.

With a season’s best of 48.47 Nathaniel tough co-competitors include Italian Mario Lambrughi, Belgian Julien Watrin, Qatari Bassem Hemeida , Jamaican Jaheel Hyde, American CJ Allen, Estonian Rasmus Magi, and British Virgin Islander Kyron McMaster.

Chukwuma with season’ best of 11.01 is also facing a tough field in the women 100m semi-final. Her opponents include German Gina Luckenkemper, Trinidad Michelle-Lee Ahye, British Daryll Neita, Polish Ewa Swoboda, American Tamari Davis, Jamaican Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce a serial champion, and Italian Zaynab Dosso.
