Bayana Bayana says the Olympic qualifier clash with Super Falcons is a do or die affair

The coach of the South African Women's national team Bayana Bayan Desiree Ellis says South Africa are determined to qualify for the 2024 Olympics.

TheBayana Bayana will confront Nigeria’s Super Falcons in the final playoff in a two-legged match in April.

At stake is the Paris 2024 women's football ticket.

According to Soccernet, Ellis has declared the game against Nigeria will be a “do or die” affair for Bayana Bayana while speaking in anticipation of the playoff games against the Super Falcons.

“It will be do or die [against Nigeria], We want to have an early camp, we will improve our chances when we prepare early and very well.”

South Africa and Nigeria will compete in a two-legged match between April 1 and 9, 2024, with the overall winner becoming one of Africa's representatives at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Meanwhile, Super Falcons midfielder Deborah Abiodun has reckoned Nigeria will not take South Africa for granted when both teams clash in the final round of the Olympic qualifiers.

Abiodun made this claim after the Super Falcons defeated Cameroon 1-0 in Abuja to seal a date with Bayana Bayana in the final round of the African qualifiers.

It has been sixteen years since the Super Falcons qualified for the Olympic Games, and a victory against South Africa will book their ticket to the Paris 2024 Games.
