Embattled Super Eagles will have another opportunity to start preparation to start redeeming themselves from April 19 when the draws for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying series will hold.

This was confirmed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Friday.

CAF’s Organising Committee also approved modifications to the June 2022 window.

The qualifiers begin in June 2022, with the final set of matches to be played in March, 2023.

The Super Eagles were eliminated in the second round at the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon where they lost to the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia.

Having won all three group games, many had tipped the Eagles to go far in Cameroon before they fell to the North Africans.

The 2023 AFCON will take place in Cote d’Ivoire where the Nigeria national team will be hoping for a fourth African title after previous successes on home soil in 1980 at Tunisia 1994 and then the South Africa 2013 editions of the continental tournaments.
