Wright urges Arsenal to sign Olise before Chelsea
Olise has impressed at Selhurst Park this season, often operating as an understudy to Wilfried Zaha.
Arsenal legend Ian Wright has already praised Crystal Palace Nigeria born youngster Michael Olise following his superb season in south London. The 20-year-old, who was released from Cobham as a youngster, has featured 25 times in the Premier League for Patrick Vieira's side, directly contributing towards seven goals.
Olise has impressed at Selhurst Park this season, often operating as an understudy to Wilfried Zaha. So much so that the Gunners legend has tipped the France youth international for 'unbelievable things'.
Speaking on ITV Sport earlier in the season, Wright showered Olise with praise and said he has a 'massive' future. Wright said: "When you watch what Zaha brings to the team, Wilf is what 29 now? Here you are talking about a youngster that has a massive future."
“When you look at what he does in the final third. Go and do what you want. He is going to be somebody that is going to do unbelievable things."
It is understood that Olise has a £35 million release clause in his contract, according to The Times. The Frenchman's dazzling displays have courted the interest of several top-flight sides, with Arsenal and Chelsea among those interested in securing his services, according to The Sun.
Olise has worked closely under the stewardship of former Arsenal midfielder Patrick Vieira this season, steering the Eagles towards a potential top-10 finish in the league. Singing from the same hymn sheet as his former Highbury teammate, the Palace boss labelled the youngster a 'special talent'.
Speaking in February, Vieira said: "He can score goals, create chances and he is a special talent. He will improve and get better as a player. His work ethic every day has been terrific since he has been at the football club," the Frenchman added, before telling Arteta how to improve Olise, should Arsenal activate the forward's reported release clause.
"There is still a long way to go - he still needs to improve some parts of the game but he is doing well and playing with a lot of confidence," said Vieira. "His team-mates trust him a lot to give him the ball and that is a good sign, so he has to keep working and keep improving himself."
