Nimrod lauds FIVB for Nigeria's World Cup qualification

The president of Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Engineer Musa Nimrod has lauded the decision of the Federation of International Volleyball, FIVB to increase the number of U19 girls world cup slots to three which Nigeria benefited from to qualify for the 2023 FIVB Volleyball Girls' U19 World Championship in Croatia and Hungary.

Nigeria placed third at the 2022 CAVB Volleyball Girls’ U19 African Championship in Abuja, thus qualifying for the World Championship, Which will be held from the 1st to the 11th of August 2023.

In a statement signed by Yiting Cao, FIVB Volleyball Department Project Manager; FIVB, confirms Nigeria's qualification and congratulated the country for qualifying for the Girls’ U19 World Championship. 

The statement advised Nigeria to confirm her participation, complete the attached Entry Form and return it by 3rd February 2023. 

Reacting to the development, the President of Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Engineer Musa Nimrod lauded the decision of FIVB to admit three African Nations into the World Championship.

Nimrod said the championship will help develop the young players who are in the best form of their lives.

He said, “Cameroon and Egypt placed first and second respectively at the 2022 2022 CAVB Volleyball Girls’ U19 African Championship in Abuja where they booked their tickets to the World Championship. 

“The slot given to Nigeria by FIVB means we can showcase our talents to the world in Croatia and Hungary. The female players can also have the opportunity of being selected by scouts of foreign teams
