The Electoral Committee will meet to review and decide on the nominations.

NOC Election 2022: Presidential aspirant Gusau on a wild goose chase

Former president of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) Ibrahim Gusau is one of the candidates who has signified his intention to challenge Hubu Gumel, the current president of NOC, who is seeking another term.
Gusau who lost his re-election bid and challenge the same in court presently does not head any federation or association unless a court with competent jurisdiction recognizes him as the president of AFN a position presently occupied by Tony Okowa.

It is still unclear who signed Gusau’s form to contest the coming election as the NOC only recognize Okowa.
The NOC election is slated for Jalingo, Taraba State, December 15, 2022 .
The Electoral Committee released the list of candidates that met the 6th December, 2022, 12pm submission deadline on Wednesday.
The following persons submitted nomination forms for election into the NOC Executive Committee:
The nomination list for the Office of the President includes Habu Ahmed Gumel of the Volleyball Federation, Sani Ndanusa of the Tennis Federation and Ibrahim Gusau from Athletics Federation. 

Solomon Ogba of Bobsled & Skeleton and Francis Orbih of Badminton made the nominations list for the office of 1st vice President.  At the same time, Ishaku Tikon of Table Tennis Federation picked the 2nd Vice President form.
Meanwhile, Daniel B. Igali of the Wrestling Federation, Bamidele O. Ayoade of Shooting Federation, Olumide Oyedeji, the Athletes Representative and Maria Wophill of Athletics Federation picked the nomination forms for 3rd Vice President,
For the 4th Vice President, Hauwa-Kulu Akinyemi of Table Tennis, Rahinatu Garba of Shooting, Olabisi Joseph of School Sports Federation, Rosaline Collins Okah of Athletics Federation and Nneka Ikem of Curling Federation beat the deadline to submit their nomination forms.
Also, Tunde Popoolao f the Hockey Federation, Jonathan Nnaji of Taekwondo, Esther Toyin Aluko, Handball and Samuel Adeyinka of Nigeria Fencing submitted forms for Secretary-General while from Archery Federation, Abdullahi Mohammed put in papers for Deputy Secretary General.
Bappa Aliyu of Modern Pentathlon and Musa Kida of Basketball and Sunday Adeleye of Athletics submitted their nomination forms for Treasurer while for the Public Relations Officer, Oluphemmy Adetula of Fencing Federation, Tony Obiora Nezianya of Triathlon and Patrick Ibeh submitted their nomination forms.
However, the Electoral Committee will meet to review and decide on the nominations.
