A powerful uppercut in the sixth round was enough to seal Tyson Fury more than just victory over Dillian Whyte, but a substantial boost to his finances too.

The British fighter was awarded the victory as referee Mark Lyson called an end to the fight, with 94,000 spectators in attendance at Wembley Stadium.

It could still be Fury's final fight, defending his WBC heavyweight world championship, and he'll be able to live for some time off his income from the occasion.

Following much debate over how the income would be distributed in advance of the fight, there were changes after the result.

In total, 32 million pounds was distributed among the two fighters, but the distribution actually changed following the battle.

It was expected that Fury would take home 80 percent, with Whyte having 20 percent, but the ratio moved to 82/18 after Fury won the fight.

That meant that Fury took home 26.2 million pounds, while Whyte earned 5.8 million pounds for the defeat.

Of that, 23 million pounds was guaranteed, with a 3.2 million pound win bonus.

"No, no, it's impossible, How am I gonna get it? The fight's Saturday, that can't change now, that can't change now," Whyte said after he had complained about the purse split before the fight.

"They were never gonna change the split.
