They say uneasy lies the head that wears the crown, and that best explain Super Eagles' decision to train under floodlight on Monday night ahead of their final group game against Guinea Bissau on Wednesday.
The training which was opened to the media lasted for an hour at Roumde Adjia Annex with coach Austin Eguavoen shifting his attention to the fringe players selected to taste their first action on Wednesday night.
With a place in the knockout stage guaranteed, the likes of Peter Olayinka and Frank Onyeka will likely get the nod to start against Guinea Bissau while Alex Iwobi, Kelechi Nwakali, and Sadiq Umar will most likely enjoy their first start.
Super Eagles lived up their pre-tournament rating by beating seven times African champions Egypt 1-0 in the group opener. The Super Eagles then preyed on the Falcon of Sudan winning by 3-1 to book a passage to the next round with a match to spare.
Guinea Bissau is third on the log with one point and the West African side would need an outright win over Nigeria to avoid elimination from the tournament.
