AFCON Update: Ahmed Musa lands in Super Eagles camp

The captain of the Nigeria national football team, Ahmed Musa has arrived in the Super Eagles camp to join the ongoing preparations for the African Cup of Nations tournament set to be staged in Cameroon, 234sportsng.com reports.

Super Eagles’ media officer Babafemi Raji on Monday afternoon confirmed Musa's arrival in the Federal Capital Territory as the number of players in camp has now soared to 14.

With Musa's arrival, 14 more players are still being expected from the 28-man list for the fast-approaching AFCON tournament.

Musa led the Super Eagles to a third-place finish in Egypt during the last AFCON tournament, but the most-capped Nigerian player will be targeting Musa a better finish in Cameroon this time.

The Super Eagles are housed in Group D where they are pitched against seven-time champions, Egypt as well as Guinea Bissau and Egypt.

Earlier, 234sportsng.com reported that the invited UK-based Super Eagles stars are being expected to hit the team's Abuja camp later today (Monday) if there are no hitches in their travel plans.
