Super Eagles fringe player Paul Onuachu joins Aribo at Southampton
The deal for the 28-year-old, who had also been offered to Everton, is worth £15.8m plus add-ons.
Southampton have completed the double signings of Kamaldeen Sulemana and Super Eagles fringle player Paul Onuachu for a combined fee of more than £40m.
Rennes winger Sulemana joins for £22m after reportedly choosing the Saints over Everton, with both sides having bids accepted for the Ghanaian star.
Genk striker Onuachu, meanwhile joins for £18.5m, with the 28-year-old signing a three-and-a-half-year contract at St Mary's to team with Super Eagles playmaker Joe Aribo.
The deal for the 28-year-old, who had also been offered to Everton, is worth £15.8m plus add-ons.
He will sign a three-and-a-half-year contract, pending his medical once the financial details are in place.
Speaking in December 2022, Onuachu insisted he was happy at Genk but refused to rule out a future move to the Premier League.
'I score a lot, I like being here. But: if there is an interesting offer this winter or next summer, we will look at it together with Genk. Because I still dream of playing in a big league', he told HLN.
Everton were offered the chance to sign the striker after Saints' initial offer was declined by Genk ahead of deadline day.
