Sadiq Umar Wins Almeria Player Of The Year Award
With 18 goals and 9 assists in the Segunda Division, Sadiq finished the season with the most goal contributions in the league
Gangling Nigerian striker Umar Sadiq has been crowned U.D Almeria Player of the Season.
Sadiq’s contribution in the 2021/22 season played a massive role as Almeria secured promotion back to La Liga.
With 18 goals and 9 assists in the Segunda Division, Sadiq finished the season with the most goal contributions in the league.
He also registered one goal in the Copa Del Rey.
“Umar Sadiq picks up the golden shovel which accredits him as the best red-and-white player of the season. A great season,” Almeria shared on social media.
Sadiq had to skip the two friendly games against Mexico and Ecuador to face Almeria’s promotion mission.
In the final game of the season, against Leganés, the striker scored a second-half equalizer for Los Rojiblancos to make it 2-2 on the scoreboard.
The goal ensured Almeria finished in first position after rivals Eibar fell to a shock 1-0 home defeat
