Ronaldo vows to continue to prove doubters wrong

Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo continues to inspire Riyadh-based Nassr. On Friday night the Madeira-born striker bagged a double as his side recorded a hard-fought 4-3 win over Al Ahli Saudi, a team full of high-profile names such as Riyad Mahrez, Roberto Firmino, Allan Saint-Maximin, and Édouard Mendy who arrived in the summer transfer market.

Ronaldo opened the scoring after five minutes and bagged his second left-foot strike in the 52nd minute with Brazilian Anderson Talisca also recording a double as the Riyadh side rode out a late onslaught from the team from Jeddah.

Ronaldo addressed the media postgame and was keen to world know that he is still able to deliver and will continue playing until his legs give out

because he enjoys being on the field of play.

“They say that Ronaldo is finished, but it is not true. I will continue playing until my legs say: ‘Cristiano, I’m done” said the Portuguese star.

“I still have a lot. I still love football and scoring goals. I still love winning. They say I’m done but I’m still proving that it’s not true”, said the top scorer in the history of football.

And, despite no longer competing in the European elite, Cristiano has shown on the field that he is full of desire to win. This season alone, the veteran Portuguese has recorded 9 goals and 4 assists during the six games he has played in the 2023-24 Saudi Pro League.
