 Rivers United have intensified preparation for their CAF Confederation Cup quarterfinal first-leg tie against Algerian side USM Alger.

The Pride of Rivers will host the North Africans on Sunday at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo.

The former Nigeria Premier Football League champions had a light training session on Friday afternoon.

Stanley Eguma’s side will have their final training ahead of the game on Saturday.

Sunday’s encounter will kick off at 2 pm local time.

Their opponent, USM Alger, arrived in Uyo on Friday afternoon.

They are without five of their stars in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup quarter-final clash against Rivers United.

The quintet of Oussamma Chita, Salim Boukhenchouche, Ismail Belkacemi, Brahim Benzaza, and captain Zinedine Belaid will miss the game due to injury.

USMA will have a feel of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, the venue of the game on Saturday.

The reverse fixture will be held next Sunday in Algiers.
