Lobi Stars goalkeeper warn mates as Shorunmu reveals Abia Warriors’ target for the season

Lobi Stars goalkeeper, Atsaka Daniel has urged his teammates not to get carried away with the recent success of the team.

The Pride of Benue currently tops the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, table with 17 points.

Lobi Stars are unbeaten in their last three games.

Atsaka encouraged the team to work harder in subsequent matches.

“We are taking each game one after the other,” he told Lobi Stars Media.

“We are not carried away with our results so far in the NPFL.

“The team still has a lot of work to do in subsequent matches.”

Lobi Stars will battle Enyimba next on Saturday at the Enyimba Stadium, Aba.

Elsewhere, Abia Warriors goalkeeper’s coach, Ike Shorunmu, has revealed that the major aim of the team is to finish in a reputable position in the Nigeria Premier Football League.

The former Super Eagles shot-stopper said the team will continue to improve on their performance as the season progresses.

Shorunmu, however, refused to set a target for the team.

“I don’t need to make any promises, as we need to play week in, week out to be better,” Shorunmu told newsmen in Jos. At the end of the day, Abia Warriors want to be in a good position at the end of the season,” he said.

Abia Warriors have recorded four wins and four defeats in eight games this season.

The Ochendo Boys currently occupy the seventh position on the table with 12 points.

Abia Warriors will lock horns with Rivers United at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt, on Sunday.
