The difference between what Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is demanding as a salary and what Napoli is offering is €2m.

While Osimhen wants a salary of around €12m net per season and ownership of his image rights, the club has proposed wages of just under €10m between the fixed fee, add-ons, and image rights.

Another area of dispute is the release clause. Osimhen and his team want a release clause set at €110m, but Aurelio De Laurentiis would prefer a higher fee of around €150m.

While Napoli consistently insists they will not listen to offers for the Eagles striker especially from Saudi Pro-League club Al-Hilal reports in Italy says the club may accept a huge offer and that they are even looking at Lille’s Jonathan David as the heir apparent of the Eagles star.

The report equally claimed they have an agreement in principle with David but that doesn’t necessarily mean their striker is any closer to leaving.

The 24-year-old Nigerian striker only has two years left on his contract in the Campania capital and it’s no secret that both parties are keen to set up a new deal before the start of the new season.

Al-Hilal have been interested in picking up Osimhen for a while now but despite their lucrative salary offers to the striker, their bids to Napoli have been far lower than expected, making a move to the Middle East unlikely at this stage.

As detailed by Il Mattino Osimhen’s agent Roberto Calenda is working hard to find an agreement with Napoli and the demands for a new deal have already been laid out.

The striker wants a salary of around €12m net per season and ownership of his image rights, whilst the club has proposed wages of just under €10m between the fixed fee, add-ons,

and image rights.

Another key aspect where an agreement must be found is the release clause; Osimhen and his entourage are hoping for this to be set at €110m, but Aurelio De Laurentiis would prefer a higher fee of around €150m. A separate release clause for Saudi clubs could also be included.

Meanwhile, De Laurentiis has insisted that Osimhen will stay on with the team for next season as he still has two years remaining on his current contract.

ADL spoke to Sky Sport Italia on Thursday afternoon following the signing of midfielder Jens Cajuste from Stade de Reims, but the topic of conversation soon switched to Osimhen’s contractual situation.

“Osimhen is staying, he has another two years of the contract, where else does he go?,” De Laurentiis said to the reporters.

“We have contracts, and they must always be respected by both parties because it’s a two-way relationship.

“As long as there is transparency, then yes, he always gets on well and with Osimhen there is transparency in every instance. Stay calm.”

Napoli wouldn’t look far if they sell Osimhen to Al-Hilal, as Jonathan David has long been tapped as the heir apparent of the Nigerian star, as it happened at Lille. They have an agreement in principle with him, but that doesn’t necessarily mean their striker is any closer to leaving.

According to La Repubblica, ADe Laurentiis and his agent Roberto Calenda had a ninth meeting to discuss his renewal. Rather than moving to Saudi Arabia, the marksman would like to transfer to the Premier League if he were to depart in the next year or two.

Napoli would probably need to devise a different plan if Osimhen stayed put, as David is wanted by PSG and by Al-Hilal as well. The extension talks are moving slowly.

The idea of a double release clause, one for Europe and the other for Saudi Arabia, is gaining steam. According to Sky, the latest offer from Al-Hilal is whopping for the marksman but unlikely to entice the Scudetto champions, as it amounts to €100M.
