Ahead of the final matchday, Serie A have announced the best goalkeeper, defender, midfielder and forward of the season, as well as the best under-23 player with Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen named among the season’s best.

AC Milan Mike Maignan was named the best goal keeper.Maignan has enjoyed a stunning first season in Italian football, and has been a major factor behind AC Milan's title charge.

He has conceded 31 goals all season, and has kept 16 clean sheets so far, the most in the division.

Gleison Bremer is the best defender.Bremer has dominated throughout this season, consistently turning in flawless displays for Torino.

The Brazilian defender has shone in terms of interceptions, blocks and successful aerial duels and has attracted the attention of a host of top European clubs.

Marcelo Brozovic has been the focal point of the Inter side that have enjoyed another excellent campaign was named the best midfielder.

The Croatian has been rock-solid out of possession, whilst creating many key chances for the Nerazzurri this campaign.

Ciro Immobile is set to be the top scorer in Serie A for the fourth time, with 27 strikes in 37 appearances.

He has shone in front of goal for Lazio, as they are currently the second-highest scoring time in the division this season.

Super Eagles and Napoli striker Osimhen who has enjoyed a stunning breakthrough season this year was named the best U-23 player.

The 23-year-old has scored 14 goals in 26 matches and will play a key role at the top of European football in the years ahead.

 Meanwhile, Osimhen continued to be linked with the English Premier League with Manchester United reportedly made an approach for Napoli striker ahead of this summer’s transfer window.

According to Corriere dello Sport, , the Red Devils have identified the Nigeria international as one of their main attacking targets this summer and have decided to approach the player regarding a possible a switch to Old Trafford.

Osimhen has recently hinted that he could stay at Napoli, after stating to the media that he hopes to work under head coach Luciano Spalletti for “many more years”.


The striker is, however, believed to be interested by the prospect of playing in the Premier League, with United set to face competition from the likes of Arsenal and Newcastle United for the player’s signature.

Osimhen, who is valued by Napoli at around £100m, is under contract with the Serie A club until June 2025.
